About Gcore and the Information We Collect
Gcore is an internet social networking service. When you register for Gcore, you provide us with certain "Personal Information", such as your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address, your gender and any other personal or preference information that you provide to us. As part of the registration process, each Gcore Member creates his or her own profile, which contains the Personal Information that the Member chooses to include ("Member Information"). When you create your profile, you have the option of disclosing items within your profile to the "Public", to "Friends" or to keep it private. You can update your settings at any time. If you choose to disclose items to the "Public", the information will be viewable by all visitors to the Gcore Web site. If you choose to disclose items to "Friends", the items will be viewable only by those Gcore Members who you have invited to be your Friends. If you choose the "Privacy" setting, the items will not be viewable by others. You should be aware that Member Information that is "Public" can be read, collected, or used by any visitors to the Web site, and information that is "Friends" can be read, collected or used by Friends. Therefore such information could be used improperly to send you unsolicited messages or otherwise. Gcore is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to disclose or for the misuse of such information by Members or third parties. Any misuse or improper collection of Member Information provided is a violation of the Gcore Terms of Service and should be reported to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We, or third parties acting on our behalf, may use web beacons on our site, in our e-mails, in our advertisements on other sites, or in our advertisements in others' e-mails. A web beacon is an electronic image that can be used to recognize a cookie on your computer when you view a web page or e-mail. Web beacons help us measure the effectiveness of our site and our advertising in various ways, for example, by counting the number of individuals who visit our site from a particular advertisement or make a purchase from our site after viewing a particular advertisement as well as by telling us when a web page is viewed and providing a description of the page where the web beacon is placed. Web beacons also help us measure the effectiveness of our e-mail campaigns, for example, by counting the number of individuals who open or act upon an e-mail message, determining when an e-mail message is opened and determining how many times an e-mail is forwarded.
How We Use The Information You Disclose
We use your Personal Information to help us efficiently operate the Web site and to contact you in connection with your transactions and other activities on the Web site. We also use Personal Information to send you notifications regarding new services offered by Gcore or promotions of services that Gcore is undertaking with third parties that we think you may find valuable.
We do not provide Personal Information to third party marketers without your permission. We may, however, share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers. This could include third parties with whom we choose to offer joint promotions or services. This information does not identify individual users.
We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is (1) reasonably necessary to offer the Gcore service, (2) legally required or, (3) permitted by you.
To operate the Web site, including processing your transactions and supporting your activities on the Site, we may share your personal information with our agents, representatives, contractors and service providers so they can provide us with support services such as authorization of PayPal transactions, email origination, receipt or support services, customer relationship management services, order fulfillment and sweepstakes and promotional fulfillment. We require these entities not to use your information for any other purpose.
We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the Gcore service, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.
Invite a Friend
If a Member elects to use our "Invite" feature to invite a friend to become a Member of Gcore, we ask them for the friend's email address. Gcore will automatically send the friend an email inviting them to join the site. Gcore stores this email address for the purpose of automatically adding the respondent to the friends list of the Member sending the invitation, and also to send reminders of the invitation. Gcore does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations and invitation reminders.
Other Web Site Features
From time to time, Gcore may implement new features and promotions. When we do so, we will disclose whether your participation in such features and promotions will result in your personal information being disclosed to others. We urge you to carefully review these disclosures.
Changing or Removing Information
Access and control over most personal information on Gcore is readily available through the profile editing tools. Information will be updated immediately. Members who wish to deactivate their Gcore account may do so by contacting email@example.com. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to other Members of Gcore.
Because email and instant messaging are not recognized as secure communications, we request that you not send private information to us or other Members by email or instant messaging services. If you have any questions about the security of the Gcore Web site, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
